Festivals and Concerts

We are experts in accessibility for festivals and concerts. We have worked with a wide-range of event coordinators to ensure that their events are inclusive and accessible for all.

Pop-Up Events

We work on pop-up events for private providers and councils. Through our extensive experience on projects like Firefly, a zipline across Melbourne’s iconic Yarra River, through to the Dumpling Markets, major surfing competitions, and much more, we have developed a deep understanding of the needs of event organisers and end-users.

Inclusive Events

  • Events have unique accessibility compliance requirements. We support you to ensure that you meet your council and legislative requirements.

  • On top of our ability to provide support to meet compliance requirements, we also help you ensure that every end-user is meaningfully included as a part of your event.

  • We conduct training for event staff to ensure they can support people with disability to participate as equals.

  • We conduct a unique review process of events; we have a panel of people with lived experience of disability who are tasked with attending events (in a paid capacity) to assess the accessibility and inclusivity of the event.

Projects

Bells Beach

We consulted with event sponsor, Yeti, to ensure the Bells Beach Surf Pro event complied with council regulations to achieve a high level of accessibility, maximising the experience of all patrons.

Downtown Dumpling Markets

Honeycomb worked closely with the event organisers to ensure that their installations were compliant with the temporary event regulations and that the market experience was inclusive of all attendees.

Good Things Festival

Working with event organisers, we made certain that the music festival’s grounds and structures complied with the City of Melbourne’s Places of Public Entertainment (POPE) requirements.

Firefly

We guided the producers of the Firefly zipline installation to create an accessible zipline experience across Melbourne’s iconic Yarra River precinct, to include wheelchair users and people of all abilities.

We also trained Firefly staff to effectively accommodate patrons, with sensitivity to all people’s individual and diverse support needs.
